Back to Santiago

This is probably going to be the last post from our travel (unless we get bored in the airport). The last days were quite full, we travelled a lot and visited many new places on our way back to Puerto Montt.
Pucon was our first stop. It used to be called “backpackers paradise” but we found it too touristic.
Therefore on the next morning we hurried towards less known places and landed in Maicolpue. It is a beautiful beach town 60 km from Osorno hidden behind the hills. We enjoyed an afternoon at the beach and stayed in a B&B held by nice Argentinian people. This place seems to be known only by Chileans, but I guess this will change very soon…

Unfortunately we had to leave the next day, and we went to Puerto Varas, a nice town next to the same lake as Puerto Octay. Long walks, a dive in traditional handicraft shops and good seafood left us with good memories of the South of Chile.

Today we’re back to Santiago. We had a long walk through the centre and to some characteristic parts of the city like the market. The city of Santiago is a difficult one to visit. Long distances and dense traffic don’t allow much freedom for tourists but if you know where to go it pays off.

We hope you enjoyed reading our adventures. Now the really interesting part comes in a couple of weeks, when we will start publishing the photos. We will give you more details in this blog when they are ready. Until then, thanks for following us!
